Following the Special edition of the Annual Ghana Sports Excellence Awards event, the jury board has eulogised the under-listed personalities for their remarkable roles played in sports in recent times.

Key among them are Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, President of the Republic of Ghana, George Weah, President of the Republic of Liberia, Former President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, Captain of Ghana’s Black Stars, Asamoah Gyan, BBC’s Jeanette Kwakye, Sassuolo of Italy’s Kevin Prince Boateng, Minister for Youth & Sports, Isaac Asiamah, among others.

President Akufo-Addo, an inspirational trailblazer unleashed his damage control prowess globally in the course of the Anas expose and the Commonwealth Games 2018 scandal.

George was shortlisted for being the First World Class African footballer to win FIFA Balon Dor accolade, becoming an astute Senator in Liberia, and subsequently winning general elections to emerge President of the Republic of Liberia.

The Black Stars captain is remembered to have constructed the Accra Academy turf in Ghana.

Kevin Prince Boateng has been consistently star performer in Europe’s top leagues and his return to Serie A with Sassuolo has been an unqualified success thus far.

The Ghanaian international has endeared himself as a utility attacking midfielder scoring a number of goals for all clubs

Boateng made 31 Bundesliga appearances, involving 27 starts, and scored six goals as Frankfurt finished eighth on Bundesliga table last season.

He also played a significant role as The Eagles clinched the German Cup at the expense of Bayern Munich.

Boateng has also impressed off the field, with his mature assessment of the comparison between superstars Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

KP Boateng has scored four goals for US Sassuolo of Italy, since joining the club in July 2018.
