Dr. Kofi Amoah, chairman for the Ghana FA Normalization Committee has revealed that the decision to pay players directly ahead of the special competition emerged after meeting with captains of the various clubs.

It will be recalled that as part of the committee's work to restore Ghana football, various club captains were invited on how their welfare can be improved.

Surprisingly, opinions have been divided after the meeting was held on Wednesday after four-member committee revealed the players will be paid directly following the meeting with club administrators on Tuesday.

Premier League clubs are unconvinced by the idea and look to withdraw from the stop-gap competition.

However, Dr Amoah speaking to Accra based Asempa FM insisted that footballers who are the main actors of the game must be given what they deserve hence the direct payment of their entitlements to their accounts.

“We’ve listened to the players and all the concerns they raised about their salaries and issues relating to it.

"The players are the main actors of the game and we must do things to demonstrate that the players deserve what they must get.

What is due to the clubs will go to them and what is due to the players will go to them. The game is for the players.

He continued, ''The player is important and the clubs themselves even agree.

"Revelations from our meeting with the players was very revealing and we must focus on player-club relationship.''
