Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president, Amaju Melvin Pinnick has thrown more light on the monthly take-home for Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, as the soccer boss says the Franco-German tactician is now earning $55,000 and not $60,000, as has been reported in some media.

Footballlive.ng can report that Pinnick insists Rohr is earning only $55,000 as his monthly salary, and the NFF supremo says this is so only because the soccer body recently approved a $10,000 increment for the gaffer.

This comes hot on the heels of a survey just before the World Cup, which showed how Rohr has become the world’s 24th highest paid coach from all 32 coaches that handled teams at Russia 2018.

Back then, the report stated that the 64-year-old tactician was earning £436,600 per annum.

In Africa, Rohr was rated third behind Egypt’s Hector Cuper (£1.30m per annum) and Herve Renard of Morocco (£681,000), but ahead of Tunisia chief coach, Nabil Maaloul, who was quoted with £305,500 per annum.

Rohr was also at that point ahead of Aliou Cisse of Senegal, who was the lowest-paid of all 32 coaches to Russia in 2018, with a £174,500 yearly pay.

Pinnick has now thrown the lid off Rohr’s full package, and the NFF boss also dispelled reports that the coach is being owed some of his salaries.

“We’re not owing Rohr or any of the national team coaches. We recently renewed the contract of Rohr.

“In the new contract is an addition of $10,000 to his monthly salary. His new salary is $55,000 – which is about N2m,” Pinnick concluded.
