League Report Match Report: Medeama SC 1-3 Hearts Of Oak
DEC 16, 2018 LISTEN

Hearts of Oak has handed Medeama SC a three one defeat in a festival match to celebrate the Amankuma festival.

The two sides locked horns this afternoon at the T&A park in the Western Region as the people in Tarkwa celebrated the Amankuma festival. In a friendly fixture to test the fitness level and performance of players, it was the Phobians who came out on top.

The Accra based side in what appears to be first test of their new head coach Kim Grant put up a performance worthy of victory despite playing away from home.

An impressive Joseph Esso who just cannot stop scoring found the back of the net to give Hearts the lead before half time.

Attacker Selassie Bakai increased the lead for the visitors on the 75th minute before Justice Blay pulled one back for the Yellow and Mauves.

Medeama’s efforts to build on their goal and probably get another goal to restore parity could not materialize and Hearts got their insurance goal through Selassie Bakai.

His brace together with Esso’s first-half goal ensure the Accra based side grabbed the victory.

It looks as if Kim Grant’s philosophy has started having a telling effect on his lads following such a performance away from home.

Next up for the rainbow boys, they are expected to return to Accra and prepare for the return of domestic football which has been slated for January 26th 2019.
