DEC 14, 2018 LISTEN

The Ghana Football Association Normalization Committee has confirmed that domestic football will bounce back January 2019.

Football-related activities have been brought to a halt after the widespread of corruption in Ghana football was unveiled by Anas Aremeyaw Anas' 'Number 12'.

The executive committee and the country's football governing was disbanded after the premiering of the video at the Accra International Conference Centre on June 6 and 7.

However, FIFA in consultation with the government formed a four-member committee in September to cleanse Ghana football, review the statute of the Ghana FA and set a roadmap for electing a new president and executive committee members.

A statement signed and released on Friday by the president of the committee, Dr Kofi Amoah, the Ghana Premier League and the Division One League will resume in January and end on April 21 to enable the country to produce representative for the CAF Champions League and the Confederations Cup.

After a meeting with the clubs, the pair has agreed to have a stop-gap competition between the first week of January and end in June before rolling out a full calendar.

Below is the full statement

The GFA Normalization Committee is pleased to announce that it has outlined the way forward for the resumption of official domestic football activities in the country.

The Normalization Committee has created a new competition structure, which will involve all sixteen (16) Premier League and all forty-eight (48) Division One League clubs in the country.

The new competition, which will keep all the clubs active during the GFA normalization process, as well as produce Ghana’s representatives for the next CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup respectively, is scheduled to start on January 26, 2019, and end on April 21, 2019
