Twifo Praso (C/R) Nov. 17, GNA - Twifo United clinched a narrow 2-1 win over Denkyira United in their outstanding football match to consolidate their lead on the Central Region Division Two League table with 13 points.
Playing one of their best games, Twifo United scored the opener in the eighth minute through outside right, Samuel Mensah. After Mensah collected the ball from the midfield he out ran the defenders of the visitors before placing the ball to the blind side of the keeper, Ibrahim Dauda.
The early goal gingered up the Denkyira lads and from then they matched their opponent's boot for boot and succeed in scoring the equalizer in the 22nd minute through their right half back, Baba Abass. On resumption of the second half, the game became a ding-dong affair and as the game was coasting to an apparent draw, right half back Stephen Darko, sneaked through an offside trap to score the match winner in the 86th minute.
