Paul Atchoe, Chef du Mission (CDM) for Tokyo 2020 and his committee has met presidents of the various sports associations / federations to discuss preparations towards the next Olympic Games in Japan.

The meeting which came off at the conference room of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 was attended by the presidents of volleyball, swimming, power lifting, mass sports / sports for all, armwrestling and representatives for rugby, kick boxing, boxing and taekwondo.

Paul Achoe said preparations for Tokyo 2020 started very early for the nation to achieve its dream of winning the first Olympic gold medal.

He said some awareness was created after the launch of the committee at the Accra International Conference Center, and the momentum slowed after the Commonwealth Games, however the dream and work must continue.

He said Ghana must be well represented in 2020 and the focus is on winning gold.

He urged the federations to consider their strong medal hopes and potentials to be supported by the GOC and government of Ghana.

He expressed that preparation is very important, and athletes must be prepared well to qualify to represent the nation.

Charles Osei Asibey, communications director of the GOC tasked the federations to furnish the GOC with a list of their best performers and qualification schedule.
