I Have No Interest In Ghana FA Presidency - Tony Baffoe

Former Ghana captain, Anthony Baffoe has reiterated that he has no interest in vying for the Ghana Football Association presidency in 2019.

The Ghana FA top seat has been vacant after Kwesi Nyantakyi resigned from his position as the president of the Ghana Football Association following the premiering of the Anas Aremeyaw Anas 'Number 12' documentary.

In cleansing the system, FIFA and CAF appointed a five-member Normalisation Committee to return football in the country to its normalcy before a new president can be elected through Congress.

The 53 year old has been heavily tipped to contest for the position after the Normalization Committee completes their mandate in March 2019.

However, the Deputy General Secretary of CAF says he is comfortable with what he was doing now and has no interest in the GFA position now but indicated he would be happy to see a former footballer to assume the position.

“People have been asking me when I will be the next GFA president. I am not interested in becoming the next GFA president for now. I don’t know where Allah will take me in the next two or three years," he told Accra based Happy FM.

"As at now, I am happy working for CAF. That’s not to say that I am turning my back on Ghana but right now, I am not interested in the role."

"It will be great to see an ex-footballer becoming the GFA president but he must be prepared because the job won’t be easy."

"We need people like Abedi Pele, Yusif Chibsah and Sammy Kuffour. They know football and they can contribute a lot to our football."
