At the Nkawkaw Park, Okwawu United played highly determined game to beat visiting Tema based Real Sportive 3-1 to qualify them to engage in the play-off at the end of their GT Premier League encounter. Okwawu piled up pressure on their opponents after Accra based Class 1 Referee, Richard Kwabo signalled the two sides into action but wasted three clear scoring chances that came their way in the sixth, 12th and 19th minutes when inside left Wisdom abbey and Obed Owusu shot off-target.

In the 39th minute, Real Sportive failed to contain the Okwawu attackers and brought down Owusu in the box for left half back Thomas Avogbedor to score from the resultant penalty spot. Real Sportive changed their pattern of play on resumption of the second half and went ahead to score the equaliser in the 53rd minute through Jewel Adjei when his direct shot from the 18 yard box beat Okwawu's keeper Emmanuel Doe.

In the 62nd minute, Real Sportive's outside right, Isaac Boakye was shown the red for a second bookable offence and Okwawu took advantage of their numerical strength to score two goals through substitute outside right Emmanuel Abito in the 74th minute and the second in injury time when his beautiful shot beat Sportive's keeper Abdallah Sumaila. Sportive put everything into the game in an effort to at least reduce the goal tally but the defencemen of Okwawu led by Kwame Antwi, Anthony Tekpetey and David Mensah foiled all their attempts at goal to end proceedings.
