AshGold To Face Kotoko In JAK Cup

Unconfirmed Reports coming in suggests that Obuasi Ashanti Gold are the likely candidates to replace Accra Hearts of Oak to face Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the John Agyekum Kufuor (JAK) cup.

The match which is to commemorate the Former President Kufuor’s 80th birthday anniversary was officially slated to be between the two most decorated clubs in the country – Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

This charity match being organized by Primeval Media under the auspices of the John Agyekum Kufuor (JAK) Foundation aim to raise funds in the region of GH¢80 million cedis for the various developments and leadership projects under the foundation.

Unfortunately, the Phobians look to have pulled out of the charity match after their sworn enemies beat them back to back last month at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

It is now believed Ashanti Gold will feature in the JAK cup with Kotoko in another Golden Clash having recently faced each other in a two legged tie.

If the match does come on, it will be time to settle scores between the two as their recent clash ended in a win for each time with both teams scoring five goals.
