AshGold failed to glitter in their 26th edition of the GT premiership at the Berekum Park following AshGold's one match ban imposed on them. The miners needed all the three vital points at stake to enable them climb to a respectable position on the league table but sheer purposeless upfront denied AshGold to win the day.

AshGold were awarded a penalty in the 32nd minute when Opoku Agyemang's shot was handled by Habib Alhassan in the 18yard box of RTU but Osei Kuffour who elected himself for the kick woefully wasted that glorious opportunity to the relief of RTU.

RTU however seized the midfield that was manned by Hamza Mohammed, Akwasi Suali and Toffic Alolo. In the 19th minute Hamza Mohammed was booked for savagely bringing down Ofosu Amoah who was advancing to the 18yard box of the visitors. Wakasu Mubarak's kick was however wasted.

AshGold kept the pressure on RTU and won several corner kicks within the spate on five minutes but all could not yield any results. Kofi Deblah was set through a beautiful pass but he hesitated for the ball to be cleared away.

A scary moment was witnessed in 29th minute when Toffic Alolo intercepted Kofi Amoako's intended back pass to George Owu but his shot missed the post by inches.

AshGold effected two quick changes in the early part of the second half when Adamu Mohammed and Adu Gyamfi replaced Nasir Lamine and Kofi Deblah respectively. RTU however also brought on Fatau Mohammed for Akwasi Suali.

AshGold lifted their game and pinned their opponents in their own half but found it difficult to find the opener. Ofosu Amoah broke lose in the 18yard box of RTU but failed to beat his marker for the ball to be dispossess of him.

Osei Kuffour was yellow carded for handling the ball in the 59th minute. AshGold bombarded the goal area of RTU but the well-composed defence of RTU deprived AshGold to snatch the winner until the referee brought proceedings to an end.
