As part of Black Queens preparations ahead of the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) 2018, Coach of the side Bashir Hayford has reiterated that they are hoping to play high profile matches with some countries from the African continent.

In an interview with Asempa FM yesterday, the experienced coach disclosed that they are looking to play high profile matches to get the team ready for the championship.

They are thus proposing for friendly matches with Nigeria, Algeria, Zambia and South Africa.

They are seeking to at least play two of these countries before the championship commences.

Bashir Hayford continued; “Some nine players who were with the team when the team went to Cote D’Ivoire to win the WAFU cup earlier this year are currently outside to play professional.

"We are pleading with the Sports Ministry to bring those players on board to feature in the high profile matches before the tournament proper”.

Coach is also advocating for arrangements to be done for the team to go for camping outside the country.

He says they have proposed Zambia because of their weather and they are hoping to land a friendly match with them after which they will stay there for about two weeks for final preparations.

He, however, has assured that preparation for the tournament is on course and the team is in good shape.

The team recently completed a nationwide tour and are currently camped in Cape Coast.
