Kotoko To Name New Coach Before Close Of Month – Nana Coker

Special Assistant to Dr Kwame Kyei, Nana Kwasi Gyambibi Coker has disclosed that Kumasi Asante Kotoko will name a substantive coach before the close of the month of September.

Africa’s club of the century are in search for a new coach to replace Coach Paa Kwasi Fabian who recently parted ways with the club. The former coach of Kotoko left the club last Monday after he turned in his resignation ground to management of the team.

A number of high profile coaches in the country have been tipped to be handed the vacant Kotoko job. A couple of such coaches include former Aduana Stars coach Yusif Abubakar and former Ashanti Gold gaffer CK Akonnor.

In an Interview with Oyerepa FM, Nana Coker hinted that they have shortlisted a number of coaches out of which one will be appointed to replace Paa Kwasi Fabian.

“I can't confirm the name of any coach but we have shortlisted a number of local coaches out of which we will choose a coach from”, he said.

Nana Coker further revealed that Kotoko has received a lot of applications from coaches both in and out of Ghana. He, however, stated the next coach will be from Ghana and not from outside the country.

“There are a lot of applications we have received some from abroad and Ghana but I can assure you that we will not go beyond the boundaries of Ghana we will still pick a local coach”, the Special Assistant to Dr Kwame Kyei said.
