Michael Essien refuses to accept he is the best defensive midfielder in the world.
Some pundits have hailed the Chelsea star as the top man in his position on the planet, something he could look to prove in next year's World Cup finals after helping Ghana qualify for the first time in history.
However, the former Lyon favourite does not feel he deserves top billing.
"When people say I have become the best in the world in my position, I don't believe it," he confessed to L'Equipe.
"I am disturbed by the compliments.
"Moreover, I am still young.
"I don't know if my career path is exceptional.
"Anyway, I am achieving all of my wildest dreams."
The African has quickly settled into life at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea continue to dominate in The Premiership.
