I Can Become The Next GFA President – Former Hearts of Oak Goalie Sammy Adjei

Former Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper, Sammy Adjei has given the clearest indication that he could become the next President of the Ghana FA.

The country's football governing body is currently without a president following the resignation of Kwesi Nyantakyi who was hit with a corruption scandal in the Anas Aremeyaw Anas 'Number 12' documentary that has shaken the foundation of Ghana football.

However, an election will be conducted to elect new Executive Committee and President of the Ghana Football Association when the Normalization Committee set up by FIFA concludes its work in March 2019.

The 37-year-old who was part of the Black Stars squad that played at the 2006 World Cup in Germany is now putting himself out as a possible candidate for the vacant GFA Presidency.

“I could easily become the next GFA President,” he told Asempa FM.

“If God wills me to be GFA President I will be. But I know I am very capable." he added.

Sammy Adjei is yet to announce his retirement from football despite being clubless for over three years.
