Ghanaian midfielder Isaac Cofie has won raves of plaudits for his debut performance for Sporting Gijon in the Spanish Segunda Division over the weekend.
The 26-year-old joined the Rojiblancos as a free agent on a two-year deal after leaving Italian Serie A side Genoa.
Cofie was handed his debut in the side's 1-1 stalemate with Alcorcon in the opening day of the Spanish second-tier division.
The Ghanaian was deployed as a defensive midfielder by coach Ruben Baraja and recovered the ball 10 times.
Cofie was in commanding for the side as he completed a passing rate of 82%.
Isaac Cofie is believed to have found a perfect for his development after stamping his mark on the game.
He has been tipped to keep his place in the side when they welcome UD Extremadura to El Molinon on Sunday.
