Handball: Armed Forces meet Future Stars

Accra, Oct. 11, GNA - The Ghana Armed Forces male handball team will meet Future Stars in a semi final encounter of the Areeba Handball Knockout Competition at the Azumah Nelson Sports Complex on Thursday, October 13.

Mr Saka Acquaye, general secretary of the Handball Association of Ghana (HAN) who announced the fixtures in Accra on Tuesday said the match would be preceded by a female duel between Ghana Police Service and their Armed Forces counterparts.

The pairings end with a match between Ghana National Fire Service and Asomdwe at the same venue on Saturday, October 15.

To qualify for the semi finals, Ghana Armed Forces defeated Ghana Police Service by 24 goals to 20, while Future Stars walloped Old Hands 23-14 and Fire Service whitewashed Hostac by 34 goals to 16. Meanwhile, the Security Services teams are billed to play international friendly matches with an Ivorien and a Togolese team in Accra from October 14 to 16.

Les Curiaces will arrive from Lome, Togo while Les Colombe of Abidjan will complete the line up for the friendly matches with Ghana's Security Services teams. 11 Oct. 05
