The government, the Ministry of Education and sports as well as the Ghana Football association have been commended for their various massive contributions towards the eventual qualification of the Senoir National Team, the Black Stars to the World Cup in Germany next Summer.

The Ghanaian public has also been showered with praise for their unflinching never-say-die support and ceaseless prayers for the team since it embacked on the qualifying series.

A former Ghanaian and international Star,Anthony Yeboah made these remarks when he shared his joy at the success chalked by the team on AUTHENTIC KAPITAL SPORTS,a Kapital Radio Sports Programme in Kumasi this morning. He said the achievement of the Stars in unpresidented and all who contributed in every way must celebrate their respective contributions to the course.

Tony Yeboah called on Ghanaians to stop calling for the inclusion of him and the Maestro Adedi Ayew Pele in the team for the World Cup,rather they should encourage and support the boys at the tournament because he and Adedi have paid their dues to Ghana football and it is the time of the current team of players to play their part in Ghana football.

He said it suprises him when the debate as to wheather he and Abedi should be drafted into the team come up."I have not been playing for about three years,i can't even run contineously for twenty minutes,Pele on the other hand has not been playing actively for the past four years so how can we play?.he stated." I am however available to serve in any other capacity with the team".

Asked what actually worked out for the team he said,"Most of the time it is not the money but at the same time the motivation counts a lot,you see even though the players don't play for the money, especially the foreign based professional, at times it is crucial because once you are on the field,it is on your mind that at least you are playing for something"

To this end, Tony Yeboah praised Goldfields Ghana Limited for their massive sponsorship package which he said is one of the mojor reasons why the team qualified. He called for more support for the team as it prepares for the African Cup of Nations and the World Cup."

The authorities must plan pragmatic training schedules for the team so that Ghana will not only be at the World Cup, but make appreciable impact at the World Cup".He said.
