08.10.2005 LISTEN
By Space FM, Sunyani

Antrack Airline number ABV 9 GNAN carrying supporters and some members of press to Cape Verde was forced to return to Kotoka International Airport after take-off due to technical reasons.

The captain of the flight, Kwasi Oteng told Space Fm that they were compelled to abandon the trip mid-way after the radar had indicated technical problem, coupled with reported bad weather conditions at the destination.

Aboard the flight were deputy minister of education, Mr. Ampofo Twumasi, SWAG president Ebo Quansah, FA member Alosius Dankebe, GHALCA chairman, J.Y. Appiah, president of National Supporters Union, Abraham Boakye highlife musician, Amakye Dede and Space Fm's George Mahama (Allan Green)

Meanwhile, the president of Ghanaians resident in Cape Verde, Tony Parker Danso has expressed his utmost dismay about the turn of events as adequate preparation had been put in place in Cape Verde to receive the supporters.

Parker immediately organised his men to gather at the Praia Airport to meet the Ghanaians after Space Fm had communicated the departure of the supporters to him.

A completely-devastated president of the National Supporters Union, Abraham Boakye (One Man Supporter) was saddened by the incident. “It's very painful that my team would not be available to cheer the boys to victory, but what's written is written”
