Head coach for Aduana Stars Kenichi Yatsuhashi has conceded that qualifying out of their CAF Confederations Cup group is going to be difficult.

With an additional two games to play in their group, Kenichi believes it is possible to secure qualification but also admits it is not going to be easy.

“It’s not going to be easy but whether we will qualify from the group stage or not depends on these last two matches and we want to qualify so we have no option than to work hard to win all three points on Sunday,” Kenichi said in an interview on Dormaa FM.

The Japanese trainer took over as head coach of the Dormaa based club after the club mutually parted ways with Coach Yusif Abubakar.

The team had already played two matches in the competition but had only managed to pick up a point. Kenichi instantly turned their fortunes around as he led them to a two one victory over AS Vita Club at home to pick their first three points of the campaign.

They, unfortunately, lost the second leg of the tie with AS Vita Club recording a comfortable two zero victory.

Next up, the Fire boys will host ASEC Mimosas on Sunday as they hope to record a massive win to boost their chances of qualification.

A win will possibly move them from the third position to second with a big chance of making it out of the group when they win their last match of the group.

Ahead of that crucial game, the former Hearts of Oak and Inter Allies gaffer is optimistic his side will put up a good performance to grab all three points.

The game will be played at the Nana Agyeman Badu II Park at Dormaa-Ahenkro on Sunday, August 19.

“Qualification to the next stage is possible but it will be difficult because ASEC are a good side just like the other teams in our group.

"But the story will definitely be different this time round because I wasn’t the one in charge when they beat Aduana Stars”.

As part of preparations ahead of the match, Aduana played a friendly against Young Apostles of Sunyani which they won 1-0 last Saturday.
