The General Manager of Ghana Premier League side Techiman Eleven Wonders, Takyi Arhin has urged the government to withdraw its petition case against the Ghana Football Association (GFA) or faces the anger of Ghanaians in the 2020 elections.

Following the premiering of the Anas Aremeyaw Anas 'Number 12' video, the government took the steps to dissolve the country's football governing.

The government has already appointed the registrar of companies as the liquidator of the Ghana Football Association.

However, on Monday, August 14, the General Secretary of FIFA, Fatima Samoura wrote to the Ghana government that if the petition to start liquidation process of the GFA is not withdrawn by 27th August 2018, the country will be banned from all football activities with immediate effect.

According to FIFA, the suspension would be lifted once the above – mentioned petition is withdrawn and FIFA is given written proof thereof.

But the controversial football administrator says he does not see the reason why the government wants to dissolve the FA before reforms.

“We don’t dissolve Associations before reforms but reforms are done within the Association. The culprits in the Anas Exposé should have been dealt with as FIFA did in their reforms. It is only in Ghana and Afghanistan that you would see a whole Association been dissolved,” he said

“The government as of now has no option than to withdraw the case from the court because he knows the ripple effect. The government will not sit down for FIFA to inflict its ban on us” he added.

“We are in 2018 and we are left with two years to exercise our franchise, so do think the government will sit down for us to receive a ban from FIFA,” he ended.
