Daniel Darkwa Undergoes Successful Surgery

Daniel Darkwa has undergone a successful surgery at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital today, Nana Gyembibi Coker, special assistant to Dr Kwame Kyei has confirmed.

Nana Gyembibi Coker confirmed the news in an interview with Asempa FM this evening. He disclosed that Kumasi Asante Kotoko led by their chief executive officer Dr Kwame Kyei today paid for the defender to have his surgery.

He also assured fans of the Porcupine Warriors that the player is recovering very well after undergoing a successful surgery today.

The former Aduana Stars defender has been down with a shoulder injury for the past three months before finally undergoing the surgery today.

Daniel Darkwa had previously not been able to have the surgery because the 10,000 Ghana Cedis which was being demanded for the surgery had not been provided by the club.

Some staunch supporters decided to contribute and pay for the surgery fee before finally, the club confirmed that they sum of money had been approved for the player to have the surgery.

Daniel Darkwa missed Kotoko’s trip to Tanzania to play Simba Sc due to the shoulder injury. Now that the player has had a successful surgery, he is expected to recover in the coming weeks before joining his Kotoko teammates as the local league remains in limbo.
