Information reaching Modernghana Sports is that Kumasi Asante Kotoko has finally paid for Daniel Darkwa’s surgery.
The defender who has been down with an injury for the past three months can now finally have his shoulder injury and recover.
The former Aduana Stars defender has been suffering from the shoulder injury but could not undergo a surgery because the GHC10,000 required was not available.
We understand that Management of the Porcupine Warriors has now paid the money for the surgery.
In the past weeks, Kotoko has come under heavy criticism for not having paid for the player to have the surgery.
Information gathered indicated that management had not yet released the amount because Dr Kwame Kyei who is the Chief Executive Officer of the Club was indisposed.
The issue got worse when it some hardcore supporters of the club decided to contribute money to cater for the surgery fees of the defender.
Many supporters, as well as Ghanaians, lashed out at the Kumasi based club insisting that a big club like Kotoko should and must take care of their players when they get injured.
It is understood that the full amount has been paid and Daniel Dankwa is expected to have the surgery in the coming days.
The surgery is expected to be done at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
