Ghanaian defender Kadri Mohammed's contract with Baniyas SC has been cancelled after just five days at the UAE side.

The 22-year-old has left the UAE capital without kicking a ball for his new club after unforeseen hitch rocked the transfer deal, Ghana's leading football news outfit can reveal.

The centre-back joined the Sky Blues on a season-long loan from Austrian Bundesliga club FK Austria Wien.

Mohammed's one-year loan contract was cancelled on Tuesday night his Austrian top-flight side seriously disagreed over previous terms they thought they had reached over the deal.

He joined the club towards the end of last week with the hopes of joining the team on pre-season but he is now returning to Austria where his future will be decided.

"Baniyas is reconsidering Kadiri Mohammed's contract, and the negotiations for the player's one-year loan have been going on for some time, "Baniyas said in an emailed statement to Ghanasoccernet.com on Wednesday afternoon.

"But the two parties have not reached a final agreement on the matter."

Mohammed joined Austrian top flight side in the second half of the 2016 season from Ghana Premier League side AshantiGold SC.

The 22-year-old quickly established himself as a key cog in Thorsten Finke's side, making 10 appearances in his debut season.

The towering guardsman's performance attracted attention from a host of clubs but it is Baniyas that showed much interest in his services.

The Ghanaian defender joined the UAE side on a loan deal with the option to purchase him outright, after completing a successful medical last week Thursday.

Mohammed made 32 appearances in all competitions for Austria Vienna last term.

He made his youth debut with Ashanti Gold Sporting Club before making his senior debut in the 2015-2016 season.
