JUL 12, 2018 LISTEN

Black Stars Management Committee chairman, Winfred Osei Kwaku Palmer says he has regretted investing his money into Ghana football.

Football-related activities in the country has been brought to stand still after the 'Number 12' documentary by ace investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas which uncovered the rot in Ghana football.

Over 80 match officials were captured accepting bribe to change the outcome of the game.

Top officials of the Ghana FA such Kwesi Nyantakyi, Eddie Doku, Sannie Daara were also caught accepting bribe.

The government took the steps to dissolve the country's football governing body after the airing of the video last month.

On Thursday, July 12, the High Court appointed the Registrar of Companies as the official liquidator of the Ghana Football Association [GFA].

The court decided after it granted an injunction application by Attorney General to restrain the GFA and all it assigns from carrying out any official work.

The decision of the court means the registrar of companies, Jemima Oware, will manage all the assets of GFA until the hearing of the substantive petition for liquidation.

However, Osei Palmer, who also the life patron of Division One side Tema Youth and has maintained his stance since the government to dissolve the Ghana FA says he feels saddened and disappointed investing in Ghana football as some things are not going right.

“I have regretted doing football in this country and it is quite sad," he told Asempa FM.

"The EXCO members of the GFA should be allowed to complete their term of office.

‘’I disagree with those saying that the EXCO Members have refused to resign because of ex gratia. Is not true” he mentioned.

However, the country’s football governing body has challenged the Attorney General’s petition at the High Court seeking for the dissolution.
