John Agyekum Kufuor (JAK) Foundation, in collaboration with the EIB Network, held the maiden edition of the Kufuor Health Walk in Accra last Saturday.

Led by the management of JAK Foundation and officials of the EIB Network, the walk brought together over 800 participants from all walks of life.

The two and a half hours health walk and aerobics, which form as part of activities to raise GH¢80 million to sustain the foundation's programmes, commenced at the Aviation Social Centre at 6am.

The participants marched to the residence of former President John Agyekum Kuffour at the Airport Residential area and used the same route to the Aviation Social Center.

Brass-band music was played to entertain the participants during the walk.

It attracted politicians, radio and television personalities, sports personalities, musicians, actors and members of several Keep Fit Clubs.

Some of the personalities, who participated in the walk, included EIB Network Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Bola Ray, Prof Kwesi Yankah, Stephen Appiah, Kwesi Appiah, Afriyie Acquah, Ayitey Powers, Okyeame Kwame, Prince David Osei, Akuma Mama Zimbi, Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD), Tagoe Sisters, Mzvee, among others.

Addressing the participants after the walk, the former President J.A Kufuor expressed gratitude to them for coming out in their numbers to support the foundation.

According to him, the health walk would be held annually to create awareness about the programmes of the foundation.

He urged the youth to seek knowledge in every field to ensure the socio-economic development of the country.

Former President J.A Kufuor also called on Ghanaians to support each other to promote the development of the nation.

Established in 2014, the JAK Foundation has initiated a number of developmental projects in some communities across the country.
