The 2nd Head of State Invitational Golf Tournament held at the Royal Golf Club in Kumasi was given a royal touch on Saturday morning.

Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and the Okyenhene, Osagyefuo Amotia Ofori Panin teed-off to start the tournament.

The two revered monarchs exhibited sublime golf skills to thrill hundreds of golf lovers and dignitaries at the venue.

They were joined by the Paramount Chief of Manso Nkwanta, Nana Bi-Kusi Appiah and top businessman, Sam Jonah, to play the exquisite golf.

The performance of Otumfuo and Okyenhene, who are astute golfers, attracted cheers from the excited crowd.

This was the first time that Asantehene and Okyenhene, who have each reigned for 19 years, were playing golf together.

The 2nd Head of State Invitational Golf Tournament is geared towards encouraging CEOs, general managers, among others, to take keen interest in golf.

The tournament, which is the brainchild of the Ghana Golf Association, attracted 150 executive golfers from the 18 golf clubs in Ghana.

The Head of State Invitational Golf Tournament is expected to be played in all golf clubs in the country.

The Sports Minister, Isaac Asiamah, Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah and Kumasi Mayor, Osei Assibey Antwi, were in attendance.

The host club, the Royal Golf Club in Kumasi, dominated the impressive tournament by winning most of the trophies.

They emerged champions in both the men's and women's categories of the tournament to the delight of the excited home fans.

President Akufo-Addo assisted Otumfuo and Okyenhene to present prizes to the winners at a dinner at the Manhyia Palace.

The President stated that his administration would work assiduously to promote sports in the country.

The tournament, he said, would be given a massive boost to stimulate the interest of the youth in golf.

The President lauded the award-winners for their hard work and determination, urging them to remain disciplined.
