Supporters of Dwarfs attack referee


Cape Coast, Sept. 12, GNA - Irate supporters of Cape Coast Mysterious Dwarfs on Sunday attacked Class One Referee, T. Aggrey of Tarkwa after the final whistle of the Premier League match between Dwarfs and Kpando Heart of Lions at the Robert Mensah Sports stadium at Cape Coast on Sunday.

The supporters accused the referee of biased officiating and went ahead to throw missiles unto the pitch, broke the perimeter fence and invaded the pitch while some of them went ahead to attack the referee but he was rescued from further assault by the security personnel led by DSP Wisdom Akora.

The security personnel had to detain Mr Aggrey and his two assistants, Messrs R.K. Baah and B.R Ofori on the pitch for about 40 minutes since some of the irate supporters had also blocked the gate leading to the Referees' dressing room.

The security personnel later managed to whisk the three men to safety The tension packed match ended in a goalless draw.
