League Report Kotoko 2-1 Aduana Stars
JUN 3, 2018 LISTEN

Kumasi Asante Kotoko managed to beat defending league champions, Aduana Stars by two goals to one. Unbeaten in their last three matches, the porcupine warriors added another victory as they played their final match of the first round in the Zylofon Ghana Premier League.

With the game ending two goals to one in favor of the Kumasi based club at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kotoko has now moved up by two spots and find themselves 5th of the league log. They have been able to secure twenty four (24) points from the fifteen (15) games they have played, losing twenty (21) points in the process.

New forward, Sogne Yacouba broke the virginity of the game in the first half when he found the back of the net after just seven minutes into proceedings. All efforts by Aduana could not yield any results in the first half as the home team went into the break still leading by the lone goal.

Just three minutes into the second half, Sogne Yacouba added another goal to complete his brace and ensure Kotoko secure all three points on the day. Striker Bright Adjei pulled one back for the Fire Boys on the 67th minute but it was not enough to get them any points on the day.

The Dormaa based club remain in the relegation zone, 14th on the league table with fourteen points after playing eleven (11) matches. The team has four outstanding matches to play in which if they are able to get enough points, they will crawl out of the danger zone.
