Benjamin Acheampong Wants Zamalek Return

Former Asante Kotoko forward Benjamin Acheampong has expressed his desire to return Zamalek at the end of his loan stint at Petrojet.

The diminutive marksman joined Africa giants Zamalek in a big money move from El Dakhleya Sporting Club at the start of the Egyptian Premier League.

However, the 27-year-old struggled to churn out regular playing time before he was shipped out on loan to Petrojet in the second half of the season.

According to reports in Egypt, the forward is being chased by four Egyptian top-flight sides following his incredible performances with Petrojet.

He is reported to be on the wish list of Al Gouna, ENPI, the Alexandria Union and Petrojet, but the final decision lies at the doorstep of Coach Khaled Galal, who is believed to be keen on giving the player another opportunity.

In an interview with Dostor.org, Acheampong indicated his determination to return to Zamalek but believes the final decision will depend on the team.

Will you return to Zamalek next season?
The decision is now in the hands of the White House. For me, of course, I would like to go back because I did not get the best chances for the team, and I only played for a few minutes. I hope to go back to the starting period from the start with the team.

What prompted your departure in the winter?
- The results were not in favour of the team, and there was pressure on the management to achieve victories, so they had to renew the blood of the team some elements and the contract with new attackers, which led to my return and my loan to Petrojet.

If Zamalek refuses your return, where will you go?
- I will not be the first of the events and I will wait for what will result from the position of Zamalek management, and then I set my goal, and there are several local and external offers but I will not rush and I will study all the presentations carefully.

What is the truth behind your chronic injury?
- This is totally shameful and all that happened was that I was injured in the preparation period before the start of the season, it was a serious injury, and necessitated my absence for nearly 3 months. How do I suffer from a chronic injury and have been subjected to medical examination before completing the contract? The fact that the media made me famous because of rumours, and what they do not know it had a positive echo and increase in my month.

How do you see Zamalek winning the Egyptian Cup?

What is your evaluation of Zamalek attack line?
