Cape Coast, Sept. 4, GNA - Cape Coast Fire Service emerged the Cape Coast Municipal Inter Departmental gala champions when they beat University of Cape Coast 4-3 on penalties in the finals of gala tournament staged at the Robert Mensah sports stadium on Thursday. The tournament was organised by the Cape Coast Inter Departmental League Committee with 12 teams participating in the championship to usher in the Inter Departmental League scheduled for September 9 this year.
The teams are University of Cape Coast, Ghana Telecom, Electricity Corporation of Ghana, Public Works Department, Ghana Broadcasting Corporation and Fire Service.
The rest are Kakum Rural Bank, Judicial Service, Department of Highways, Regional Co-ordinating Council and Elmina Beach Resort. Mr Eric Asante, Chairman of the Committee commended the teams for their good sportsmanship during the tournament and asked them to exhibit same during the League.
