Countryman Songo Could Be Free From Nyantakyi’s $2 Million Lawsuit After Anas’ Football And Politics Exposé

Top Ghanaian investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas is set to release his latest investigative piece which promises to expose football officials involved in bribery and corruption in Ghanaian football and politics.

The video which is tagged No. 12 Football and Politics, has charged the expectant Ghanaian football public with tabloid New Crusading Guide issuing a sensational headline claiming ‘Hearts are palpitating at the GFA’.

It is unknown whether which official at the Ghana FA headquarters is caught in the video but widespread speculations suggest that top officials at the GFA have been caught red-handed in the video and there could be no escape route for the officials caught in the exposé.

Ghana FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi has filed a lawsuit at a competent court of jurisdiction in Ghana seeking $2 million in damages claims against top journalist Patrick Osei Agyemang popularly known as Countryman Songo.

Nyantakyi, CAF First Vice President, claims the journalist has damaged his reputation by making corruption claims against him without producing evidence.

While the matter is pending before a court in Ghana the GFA President has suggested the journalist is a liability to his media house and should be sacked.

Songo, one of Ghana’s leading journalists, hosts a syndicated TV show on Adom FM, Asempa FM, Adom TV and other affiliates across the West African country.

The show dubbed ‘Fire For Fire’ has won multiple awards in Ghana and is credited for keeping underperforming sports officials on their feet while exposing, naming and shaming corrupt officials.

In a scenario that Nyantakyi is caught involved in a corrupt act with evidence, the case could be turned on its heads.

The court process could permit Songo to tender in fresh evidence to pursue the case which could put the GFA President in troubled waters.

Songo is among a few journalists who have been sued by Nyantakyi.
