09.05.2018 LISTEN

Ghana Premier League (GPL) debutants, Techiman Eleven Wonders have parted ways with their head coach, Mumuni Gamel, by mutual consent after 12 games.

According to Mr Joseph Kwabena Fosu, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the club, both parties have agreed to end the relationship, with the club subsequently naming premier league winning coach Enos Kwame Adepa as the new coach.

Mr Fosu in an interview with the GNA Sports explained that Gamel was not sacked for non-performance or indiscipline, but the club felt they needed a new technical direction.

He added that it was 'normal' for the club because the similar thing was done to Gamel's predecessor in the Division One campaign.

'He is a seasoned coach and there was nothing like bad blood between us or because he is indiscipline, No! One can start work and others can continue, just like players, not all those we started with are with us now.

'He started well from Division One and helped to qualify the team to Premier League but it has come to a time where someone else must take over from him,' Mr Fosu explained.

'During our Division One campaign, the then coach Adu Afful Junior was the head coach but we brought Gamel to come and lead the team. So for us it, not a big deal, because we did that to his predecessor and so if it has happened to him (Gamel), he knows it is normal.'

Coach Gamel gathered a paltry 14 points from his 12 matches in charge and has seen Techiman Wonders lying 11th on the table.

Mr Fosu confirmed to the GNA Sports that, Enos Adepa with his experience and in the interim would see the club through the rest of the season after which he would be evaluated for a permanent position.

Adepa's first game in charge will be an away game to Dreams FC at the Dawu Theatre of Dreams.
