Feyernood Beat Asernal


Gomoa Fetteh Feyernood beat visiting Berekum Arsenals 2-1 in the 21st week GT Premier League match at the Swedru Sports Stadium on Sunday.

The first goal of the match was scored in the third minute through Sherif Danladi, when he converted a spot kick after Dominic Adiyah was brought down in the box by Frank Yeboah of Arsenals for FIFA Referee Atikesse, to whistle for a penalty.

Arsenals, led by Alex Asamoah in attack, made several incursions in the goal area of the home side a bid to equalize but it proved elusive till the end of the first half.

In the second half, Arsenal put up a splendid fight and went ahead to get the equalizer in 47th minute through Alex Asamoah when he planted the ball to the blind side of goalkeeper Philemon McCarthy. Iddi Yekini scored the second goal for Feyernood in the 54th minute when he received a neat pass from Yaw Frimpong to plant the ball at the back of the net for the match winner.
