Jordan Ayew has thanked the supporters of the Swansea City for their immense support as they keep on battle for Premier League survival.

The Swans have not experienced the best of Premier League seasons after accumulating 33 points after 33 matches played occupying the 17th position with 5 matches left to end the season.

And ahead of the big clash against champions-elect Manchester City this weekend, Ayew has hailed the supporters’ contribution.

“I want to thank the supporters because the atmosphere at the Everton game was fantastic,” the striker said.

“We got everything from the fans but we just did not get the three points last Saturday.

“But I want to thank the supporters for the atmosphere they created and I also want to congratulate my team-mates because we took another step forward.

“We have a very difficult game next, but we will try to do the same again.”

Ayew marked his return from a three-match suspension by scoring the goal which salvaged a point against Everton.

The Ghanaian has become a hugely influential figure at the Liberty this season, with Carvalhal describing him as one of the Premier League’s leading forward players.

Ayew will look to continue his good form when the Swans go to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

“We gave it our best against Everton but were unlucky not to get the win,” Ayew added.

“We worked really hard and played some really good football, but we were unlucky.

“They scored a goal which they did not deserve but we fought to get back into the game. Now we must keep fighting.”
