APR 19, 2018 LISTEN

The Public Relations Officer for Medeama Sporting Club, Mr Patrick Akoto has voiced out he is shocked Elmina Sharks are circulating the fabricated story that referee Nuhu Liman, fell and got himself injured during their match day eight fixture.

Matchday eight fixture of the Ghana Premier league between Elmina Sharks and Medeama could not live to see the full ninety minutes due to an injury incurred by the middleman.

Different stories have popped up following that incident. With one side of the story unveiling the referee fell and got injured.

There was also another one where it was reported fans of Elmina sharks brutally assaulted the referee because his officiating was not fair.

The PRO of Medeama speaking to Class FM explained it is shocking Elmina sharks will resort to fabricating such a story when they all know what really happened on the day.

“I am pleasantly and shockingly surprised by the lies being spread by Elmina sharks, saying that referee Nuhu Liman fell and got himself injured.

"I was at the stadium and witnesses everything that happened.

"We were at the stadium when some goons came out from the dressing room of Elmina sharks. I don’t know how they got there but they came through the people and one of them wacked the referee with a stone, he narrated.

Mr Patrick Akoto continued the referee fell to the ground and began to crawl before eventually going unconscious. The MC came in and immediately called for the paramedics who saw how critical the situation was and took the referee to the hospital.

It comes to us as a massive surprise that our friends will claim referee Nuhu fell and got injured. For now, we will leave the matter to the referee and match commissioner to send their report to the GFA.

So many dishonest people running our game and it is as a result of such Behaviors that we are where we are today.

They, Elmina Sharks fears they will get a ban and that is why they are putting those stories out there.
