Vipers pip Aboadze Parma

Cape Coast, Aug. 11, GNA - Cape Coast Venomous Vipers continued their winning spree when they beat Aboadze Parma 1-0 in their Division One League match at Robert Mensah Sports stadium on Wednesday. The only goal of the match, which turned out to be the match winner was scored by midfielder, Francis Yankey through a spot kick in the 75th minute.

Vipers who were determined to carry the day started the game with all seriousness and pinned Parma to their own half and came close to scoring in the fifth, seventh and 10th minutes but their attackers squandered the chances.

Parma gradually warmed themselves into the game and matched Vipers boot to boot until the end of the first half with no scores to either side. The second half continued on the same pattern until the 75th minute when Parma conceded a penalty when their full back, Robert Bentil in an attempt to clear a ball from the danger zone handled it in the penalty box for Yankey to score from the resultant kick in the 75th minute. In the dying minutes of the game, Parma made frantic efforts to equalize but try as they did they could not find the net till the end of proceedings.

At Mankessim, Samreboi Samartex shared honours with Odonase Schalke O4 when they forced them to a pulsating 1-1 draw in their league encounter.
