Accra, Aug 10, GNA - The Women Sports Association of Ghana (WOSPAG) has congratulated Margaret Simpson for winning a bronze medal in the Heptathlon at the World Athletics Championship in Helsinki, Finland.
WOSPAG described Simpson's performance as a motivating factor for young and upcoming athletes who will be encouraged to emulate her discipline and dedication in their various fields of endeavours. A statement signed by Christiana G. Dodoo, General Secretary of WOSPAG, copied to the GNA Sports said, "Your accomplishment was not achieved overnight but done from very humble and difficult conditions". "Your wonderful performance has raised the image of Ghanaian sports men and women on the international scene", the statement added.
The statement said Simpson's achievement is as a result of her 'nerve ending' belief and determination to reach the highest level of her chosen sport.
