Former Hearts of Oak player, Dan Quaye says he feels vindicated after Asante Kotoko's early exit from CAF Confederation Cup.

The Porcupine Warriors were eliminated 7-6 on penalties after a 1-1 aggregate over two legs and that has led to the immediate sacking of head coach Steven Polack.

And according to him, he predicted Kotoko's downfall after they failed to make the most of home court as they claimed a slender 1-0 win in the first leg against CARA Brazzaville.

"I have been vindicated, I said that Kotoko should forget about the Confederations Cup after they squandered 3 penalties and scored just one,'' Quaye said.

However, he blamed the delayed start of the Ghana Premier League as the chief reason for Kotoko's shocking exit at the hands of the Congolese side.

The lack of league matches is the reason why Kotoko could not advance to the next stage of the competition but with Aduana Stars because most of the players have played together for about 4 to 5 years that is why they were able to go through".

Dan Quaye was part of Hearts of Oak team that won the CAF Confederations Cup in 2004.
