Accra Great Olympics hopes of playing in the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League season have been completely shuttered by an Accra Human Right Court.
The Wonder Club halted the launch of the new campaign by serving the FA with a court injunction after the Appeals Committee of the Ghana Football Association failed to them a fair hearing in their protest filed against Bechem United.
According to Olympics, Bechem fielded an unqualified player in their last match in the 2016/17 season at the Bechem Stadium but their claims have been thrown out by a court.
The two parties first appeared in court on February 13 before the case was adjourned to Wednesday, February 21.
After hearing from both sides, the trial judge has dismissed Olympics’ application and all of the FA’s activities are now set to go ahead, including the start of the 2017/2018 season.
However, unconfirmed reports suggest Congress is now expected to begin next week with the new GHPL season set to begin in the first week of March.
