The leading online sports betting company in the country, Betway held the second edition of the annual Thought Leadership Seminar. The seminar dubbed 'Positioning your brand' was held at the Alisa Hotel in Accra on Thursday, 1 st February 2018.

The seminar aimed at creating an avenue for key players in the Ghanaian sports industry to

share best practices and experiences.
Consistent with Betway's goal to develop sports in Ghana, participants were taken through a

series of presentations on brand positioning, social media usage and sports marketing and

sponsorship by speakers with requisite experience in selected areas.

CEO of Forwardzone, Ashley Kotzin spoke on the qualities of a good team manager. This is

intended to help train participants on how to effectively manage their teams and sports

establishments.
Magnus Rex Danquah Snr. and Stephen Essien led discussions on how teams can position their

brands to enable them to attract sponsorships.
Participants at the seminar were also taken through a presentation on how to use their online

presence to gain competitive advantage. Nehemiah Attigah led the discussions on how to

effectively use and manage social media pages and websites.

At the same event, Betway announced an extension of the sponsorship deal with Ashanti Gold

Sporting Club (Ashgold SC). Betway also announced sponsorship deals with current league

winners Aduana Stars, Medeama Sporting Club and Liberty Professionals Football Club.

Country Manager(Marketing) for Betway Ghana, Kwabena Oppong Nkrumah indicated that by

this exercise Betway becomes the first brand in Ghana to sponsor 4 clubs in the league in the

modern era. This further underlines their commitment to the development of football and

sports in Ghana. The signed teams have some great histories in the Ghana Premier League and

are expected to leverage on this partnership with Betway to grow their clubs.

Also present at the Betway Thought Leadership Seminar this year was former skipper of the

Black Stars, Stephen Appiah and UEFA license 'A' Coach Nico Labohm.
