FC Porto striker, Abdul Majeed Waris has disclosed his eagerness to hit the ground running after joining the complete his switch to the Portuguese giant.

The energetic striker completed his switch which will keep him at the Portuguese Champions until the end of the season, a contract which is subjected to renewal.

Waris who scored nine goals for French Club Lorient last season, the striker wants to emulate his success in France by getting goals for his new Club.

“I’m here to fight for Porto, not for the name on my jersey. I feel I can help add goals,” he said during his unveiling.

“Brahimi, Aboubakar and Marega always seem to be scoring, so hopefully I’ll help us score more. What’s important is goals, not who scores them.”

The 26-year-old could be tasting Champions League action for the first time should he be included in the team’s squad for European competition in their clash against Liverpool in February.

He could mark his debut for the Club when they take on Sporting CP in the League Cup on Wednesday.
