Former Ghanaian international, Mohammed Ahmed Polo believes it is wrong for Kwesi Appiah to have two assistant coaches due to their different managerial skills.

Ibrahim Tanko and Maxwell Konadu are the two assistant coaches to Kwesi Appiah with former Black Stars captain, Stephen Appiah serving as the team coordinator and Richard Kingston serving as the goalkeeper’s trainer for the team.

However, the former Hearts of Oak player says it is wrong for the country’s football governing body to take such decision.

In an interview with Accra based Happy FM, Polo said, “It’s wrong to have both Tanko Ibrahim and Maxwell Konadu as assistants to Kwesi Appiah at the Black Stars; because if Kwesi fails, the trio will be considered failures and hence all will be fired.

“Tanko should be given the U20 to manage. It’s unreasonable to put all the former players together to manage only one team. Their expertise must be diversified at the various national teams. Giving them other teams to manage will enable them to get the Black Stars job if Appiah fails,” Polo stated.
