Head coach of the Black Stars, Kwesi Appiah has tipped Egypt and Liverpool player, Mohammed Salah to win the CAF Africa Player of the Year award next year.

The former Chelsea and AS Roma attacking midfielder face a stiff competition from Sadio Mane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after Africa’s football governing body [CAF] shortlisted them for the award which will be staged in Accra next year.

Salah, who helped his country to book the only slot available in Group E ahead of Ghana during the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, has been widely tipped to clinch the ultimate and the former Al Khartoum manager has also backed the Liverpool wideman to win the award.

“All the countries and the players CAF shortlisted are all doing very well so whoever wins deserves it.” He told Class Sports.

“I think Mohammed Salah played very this season because he assisted and scored many goals for the Egyptian national team and helped them to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup and he is doing very well his club as well so if he gets it fine but at the end of the day the other competitors also deserve it if they win,” he added.
