The highest governing body for football in Africa, CAF, is set to synchronize the flagship club tournament with UEFA.
The new move will see the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup played along the globally adored UEFA Champions league.
Many a fan have called on CAF to synchronize their continental season with that of Europe's elite club competition so as to allow player transfer and some needed traffic.
A proposal by the new leadership of CAF, could, however, see the 2018/19 CAF club tournament played alongside the UEFA Champions League.
With over hundred clubs set to compete in the next continental campaign, CAF might be forced to ditch its current format if they are to synch their campaign with the UEFA Champions League. The draw for the 2018 CAF campaign is currently ongoing in Cairo, Egypt.
