The representative of Michael Essien, Amougou Mathieu says his client will extend his stay at Indonesian side Persib Bandung for another year.
Essien joined Indonesian top flight Persib Bandung on a one-year deal as a marquee player ahead of the start of the 2017 Liga 1 season and was given the option of extending his contract for a further year at the end of the 2017/2018 season depending on his performances.
The 34-year-old instantly became a mainstay in the side, where he scored five goals in 23 appearances for the side as they finished 13th on the log.
According to his agent, the 34-year-old will sign the optional one-year deal ahead of next season.
"Essien is still in Persib. Essien and Ezechiel N'Douasse on a contract until next year, they are still in Persib," said Essien and Ezechiel's agent, Mathieu.
