Newly-promoted Division One League side Accra Lions FC held their awards ceremony last Saturday, 9 December 2017.
The event was attended by players, coaching staff and other members of the football fraternity.
Lions were capping a fantastic season where they qualified to the second-tier league by winning all three matches in the Middle League playoffs.
They beat R-Stake FC 3-0 and followed it up with the 4-1 thumping of Emmanuel FC and the final match against Photizo ended in a 2-0 victory.
Here is a rundown of all the award winners on the night.
Goalkeeper of the Year:
Frederick Asare: The young goalkeeper started the season as the second choice but worked assiduously to emerge No.1.
He is a shot-stopper and very effective if he starts the attack with his perfectly weighted kicks.
Asare was also the second-best Players' Player of the Season.
Goal-king of the Year:
Abdul Sameed Adams: The diminutive man banged in the goals and for the Middle League he had three to his credit including the double against R-Stake FC.
Topscorer of the Year (including assists):
Promise Banini:
He was also third best in the poll for the Players' Player of the Season.
Players' Player of the Year:
Kofi Afriyie Asante: The enterprising left-back was consistent throughout out the season and rewarded by his teammates for his assertive performances.
He becomes the first player in the club's history to win the prestigious award.
