Ghana defender Abdul Kadiri Mohammed stands a huge chance of playing in the knockout phase of the UEFA Europa League if his Austria Wiens’ side beat Greek giants AEK Athens at the Ernst Happel Stadion later this evening.

The Greeks hold a 3-point advantage over the Austrian side going into the final round of group games but with Wien picking up a crucial point in the first leg, a result for them would secure qualification with the application of the Head to Head rule.

This opportunity is not lost on the Ghanaian lad who is desperate to see his side progress further into the competition.

“Our form going into the game has not been good enough. We have only won one out of our last 5 games in all competitions but that of our opponents is not any better. If you check their record, you will notice that they have also won only one out of their last 5 games and drawn the other 4.

This is a big opportunity for the club and myself and we cannot afford to let the fans down. This game could end up defining our season and we don’t want to take chances.

The coach is doing everything to get everyone in the best possible shape and I am sure victory would be ours after the game, he told Class Sports.

Wien were thumped 5-1 by Italian giants AC Milan whiles AEK dropped valuable points in their 2-2 drawn game against Croatian side HNK Rijeka.
