Prophet Kelvin Baah, a Ghanaian based in Durban, South Africa, is set to roll out support for the Ghana Wheelchair Basketball Federation (GWBF), to help develop and promote the sport in Ghana.

Prophet Baah, in partnership with the GWBF, would establish chalk and soap making factories in Ghana, for persons with disability, especially those engaging in wheelchair basketball.

The support follows a successful meeting with some executives of the GWBF, in Durban, South Africa, during the recent Africa Wheelchair Basketball Championship.

Mr Wilson Yao Agbesi, Secretary-General of the GWBF, said, the prophet has requested for the cost of the necessary machines needed to start the chalking factory from the federation.

Prophet Baah noted after the meeting that, 'It's my hope and prayer we open a chalk factory in some parts of the country including Volta Region in order to alleviate poverty on persons living with disability, who would work there.

'As part of my schedule, I would be in Ghana to carry out some surveillance and visit some disability facilities to see how best we can collaborate to improve their life.' He added.

He said, persons with disability should be given the needed support in terms of skilled training, as it would take off a huge burden on society and ensure their economic growth as well.

Prophet Baah said the government should rather pay a monthly allowance to people living with disability, instead of the current bureaucratic way of asking them to apply.

Prophet Baah has a congregation of 5,000 his church, Whitehouse Ministries International in Durban South Africa.

Prophet Baah holds a Doctorate Degree in Theology from the Elohim University of Theology, Florida USA. GNA
