Winneba Sports College named after C.K Gyamfi

Accra, July 13, GNA - The Ministry of Education and Sports has decided to name the National Sports College at Winneba after Mr Charles Kumi Gyamfi, also known as Nana Kumi Gyamfi I. According to statement signed by Mr Osei Bonsu Amoah Deputy Minister of Education and Sports, the college shall be known and called C.K. Gyamfi Sports College.

The statement said, the decision was motivated by the fact that, C.K. Gyamfi was arguably the most accomplished national football player, national coach, Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) and Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) course instructor. The statement added the naming of the College after the renowned footballer and coach crowned the state honour to him, as an illustrious sports hero.

The National Sports College is a centre for training and teaching of courses in sports and physical education.
